TALKS were today being held over ambitious plans for a sports centre of excellence in Basildon's Gloucester Park.
Basildon Council chief executive Bala Mahendran and senior officers were meeting Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott to discuss funds needed for the complex set to include Essex's first Olympic-sized swimming pool.
