Phil Parkinson was delighted with his team's second-half revival that saw them secure a 2-0 victory over Walsall at the Bescot Stadium.
The U's boss admited his team were flat in the first half but pulled it out of the bag in the second period to win the game.
He said: "I thought in the first half we had more to offer, we just needed to make more forward runs - we were not positive enough.
"Really, to come in at half-time not behind was a bonus.
"We knew we had to be more positive after the restart and Karl Duguid made a run down the right flank that showed we could get forward. We built on that and pushed on."
Parkinson admited it was a tough battle at the Bescot and had high-praise for Paul Merson's side.
