A teenager needed six stitches in a knife-wound after an altercation in the street.
The 15-year-old was walking along St John's Road, Clacton, near to a wooded area when he was approached by boys on bikes.
The victim, who is from Clacton, suffered separate cuts to the front and back of his legs during the incident, which happened at 10pm on Friday. He was left very shaken and was taken to Colchester General Hospital by ambulance.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact Clacton CID on 01255 221312. l Two youths have been arrested in connection with the incident.
They were questioned yesterday at Clacton police station and released on bail pending further inquiries.
