Shanee Martin wants to finish the year with a bang by holding on to her unbeaten record.
The Colchester boxer takes on France's Valerie Rangeard in the Elephant and Castle in London on Saturday. It will be her fourth bout since turning professional a year ago and it's a record she's not keen on ending.
The 23-year-old told the Gazette: "I've had two fights this year and one last September since turning professional and it's been going really well.
"This will be my last bout of the year and then after Christmas I'll turn my attentions towards going for the European title."
Martin was approached about a possible match-up with current European Champion Cathy Brown recently. The idea of getting her hands on the title as soon as possible was one that tempted Martin, but the Gladiators Way resident was happy to bide her time before facing up to London-born Brown.
"The fight would have come a bit too soon for me," Martin added.
