Schoolchildren were delighted to meet some beautiful feathered friends who swooped in for a visit.

A tawny owl, snowy owl, barn owl, eagle owl, long-eared owl and little owl were shown to year one pupils at St Michael's Primary School, in Maple Avenue, Braintree.
Deputy headteacher Elaine Jones said: "The children had the chance to fly the birds from the glove on one side of the hall to the other."
