Thurrock and Basildon College has shelved plans for the first phase of the £5.2million redevelopment of its Nethermayne Campus.
College principal Denise Fielding admitted a "review of further education" being carried out by the Government's Learning and Skills Council (LSC) meant campus renovation plans had been "put on hold".
