More than 525 speeding drivers were fined during a month-long crackdown.

The campaign was run by Stanway road policing unit in Colchester and Tendring.

Officers issued fixed penalty notices to drivers who did not observe speed limits, fining drivers £60 and putting three points on their licences.

The campaign was launched in response to concerns from residents and parish councils.

Inspector Steve Brewer from Stanway road policing unit said: "We will continue to target those who have a blatant disregard for the safety of other road users."
