Clacton Indoor Bowls Club marked their 70th anniversary with a special visit from the English Indoor Bowling Association.
Ready to roll - Geoff Johnson stays focused. (45602-2)
President Trevor Costall, junior deputy president John Hornby and match secretary Peter Neighbour were among the guests for a prestigious match at Clacton's base in Clay Hall Lane.
And they were joined by bowlers from 12 counties representing the EIBA.
A closely-contested game followed with the Seasiders managing to score 119 shots to the EIBA's 114. They won on four rinks to two.
A superb afternoon's bowling was followed by a meal in the club's dining hall and Clacton president Peter Kates told the Gazette: "It was a wonderful occasion."
