FOOTBALL star Ian Hendon was at a charity night to officially kick-off festive shopping at Barleylands Craft Village.
Ian, captain of League Two side Barnet and former Spurs centre back, was joined at the opening by Basildon Council vice-chairman Geoff Buckenham, Billericay Town Council chairman Trevor Stansfield and other dignitaries.
Hundreds of people attended the evening, including St Luke's Hospice founder Trudie Westmore-Cox and vice-chairman of St Francis Hospice, Valerie Fletcher.
