A MAN was appearing in court today following a road crash which left a family needing medical treatment.
Sean Bowden, 36, of Grange Drive, Southend, was arrested and charged with driving while disqualified, driving while under the influence of alcohol and failing to stop at the scene of the accident.
The crash happened at 8.30am, on Saturday in Witham, when a grey Vauxhall Astra containing a family from Burnham was in collision with a white van.
Mr Bowden was appearing at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court.
