Catherine Holdsworth was feeling on top of the world today.
Keep on running - Catherine Holdsworth finished second overall in Belfast. (37144-2)
The talented 19-year-old Colchester Harrier has just emerged from her latest England heptathlon outing as Great Britain's premier under-20 female athlete.
She added to her glory by finishing the Belfast home international in second place overall.
The University of East Anglia student also posted a personal best (PB)in the 800 metres and beat her pre-match target of 5,000 points for the two-day event.
Yet the ever-improving Harrier still described her performance in last weekend's combined events - involving athletes from England, Scotland, Wales and hosts Northern Ireland - as 'not my greatest overall'.
Holdsworth told the Gazette: "Although I set a new personal best of 5,009 points for the event, clocked a new PB - 2 minutes 23 seconds - for the 800 metres and beat all the under-23 competitors as well, my performance was still below par in some areas.
"A knee injury has held me back in recent weeks - especially in the jumping events - and that has been somewhat frustrating because I have done alright in all of my respective individual disciplines."
