TWENTY-TWO talented Southend sports students are to be given the once in a lifetime opportunity of taking part in an international rugby visit to South Africa next year.

Southend Excellence Cluster has joined forces with Southend Rugby Club to offer this unique experience to all boys currently in years nine and 10 from eight schools.

Special trials for pupils attending Belfairs, Cecil Jones, Prittlewell, Thorpe Bay, Shoeburyness High, St Nicholas, Southend High School for Boys and King Edmund, will be held at Southend's Warners Bridge home on Wednesday, October 5, between 7pm and 9pm.

The successful participants will be invited back along with their parents for an information meeting at the rugby club on the following Monday, October 10.

The Southend Excellence Cluster is a partnership of schools and agencies with the goal of helping improve education and opportunities for the children in their area.
