Paul Kingston-Lynch splashed out £7,500 so partner Wendy Hull could have the operation, turning her into a woman.

He was devastated when Wendy, who used to be a man called Dennis, cheated on him.

Ex-London firefighter Paul met Wendy ten years ago.

"She was a pre-op transexual but I was attracted to her as a person, not sexually," he told the Gazette.

He claims their relationship cost him his family and friends.

"We were living together in London," said Paul, who celebrated his 43rd birthday on Tuesday.

"Our personalities matched and that was the main thing.

"I respected what she wanted to do. I wanted to help her. I helped her become the woman she always wanted to be."

He was devastated when Wendy, ten years his senior, cheated on him.

She claims Paul made her life a nightmare after telling a pack of lies.

However, on a daytime chat show, the jobless Alresford couple pledged their love for each other.

Wendy agreed to take a lie-detector test in a bid to prove she would not be unfaithful again.
