Basildon's MP has called for a clampdown on the illegal use of motorbikes on public property.
Angela Smith, MP for Basildon and East Thurrock, said she had been inundated with complaints from park users and dog walkers about the nuisance caused by quadbikes, mini-motorbikes and scramblers around Basildon's parks and open spaces.
Mrs Smith said: "These motorbikes should not be ridden on public land - they are designed for private use on private property.
"Their constant noise and the speeds at which they are ridden are not only a nuisance, but dangerous, and I am worried a serious accident will occur if this continues."
