TWO award-winning doctors from Basildon were the special guests at a celebration of healthcare innovations.
Dr Tony Everitt and Dr Paul Cervi, from Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital NHS Trust, won the innovative medical devices category at the evening, hosted at Essex Ambulance headquarters in Chelmsford, to recognise exceptional ideas being translated into products and services to benefit patients. Their winning idea was a blood monitoring device.
In recognition of the range of new ideas, a new Innovation Book was launched. The doctors were VIP guests at the book launch along with Esther Wilkins, a nurse from Thurrock Primary Care Trust, who won joint first prize in the innovative service delivery category for its DIY chlamydia testing.
