A teenager was stabbed in the thigh by a youth riding a bike in Clacton town centre.
Police revealed the 17-year-old underwent an operation to a 3in wound to his left thigh yesterday.
The youngster was in Christmas Tree Island when the attacker, believed to be in his late teens, began to circle the victim on a bike. He stabbed him in the leg and rode off.
The victim made his own way to Clacton District Hospital.
The attacker was described as small, wearing navy blue-coloured trousers, a navy and white zip top with stripes on the sleeves and black trainers.
