A TALKING camera aimed at fighting graffiti and vandalism has made its Essex debut at Southend Victoria station.
The new technology is the first of four One Railway is installing across its region to combat damage to its trains and platforms.
Managing director Tim Clark, who witnessed the hi-tech equipment being installed, said: "Vandalism and graffiti cost rail companies millions of pounds every year in repair and cleaning bills.
"We have installed this latest technology to help us in our constant struggle to reduce the problems that can hit services to customers."
