MEETING targets, starting new services and attracting new staff are just some of the good news stories in this year's Southend Hospital annual report.
Despite dealing with rises in the number of A&E, day surgery, outpatients and inpatients, the hospital managed to retain it's three-star rating.
The hospital was helped by on-site developments including a new magnetic resonance imager which takes high quality images of the body, the creation of a surgical assessment unit and acute medical unit and £2.6million of medical equipment.
