A pensioner was airlifted to hospital after suffering chest pains.
The Essex air ambulance was called to Chestnut Way, Brightlingsea, at 1.20pm yesterday.
Crews treated the elderly man at the scene and flew him to Colchester General Hospital.
An ambulance spokesman said: "The landing had been quite tight for the helicopter, but it was helpful to have it there to get the patient the help he needed.
"Fortunately, by the time the patient arrived at hospital his condition was stable."
