Braintree Council held a rubbish amnesty to remove tonnes of unwanted goods fromthe Bartrams estate, off Howard Close.
TV's, fridges, washing machines, old furniture and garden equipment were among the larger items collected and taken away.
Janet Peatling, neighbourhood initiatives co-ordinator atBraintree Council, said: "It went really well, we cleared up loads of stuff and all the residents helped and brought their rubbish to our lorries.
"There were quite a lot of large items on the estate so this clear-up has really made the area a much nicer place for the residents."
If any community wants to take part in the next rubbish amnesty, contact Mrs Peatling on 01376 551414, ext 3265.
