A NEW doctor's surgery is set to be built in Laindon after proposals for the health centre were agreed.
Basildon Council has agreed to plans to demolish a bungalow in Worthing Road and build a one-storey surgery with a car park.
Dr Adekunle Adeosun - a GP based at the Dipple Surgery in Wickford Avenue, Pitsea - wants to move his practice to the new address and focus on the area.
He said: "This is a very exciting project with the aim of bringing a quality service to Laindon."
The Dipple surgery currently has three other GPs. It will be down to the PCT to replace Dr Adeosun if he leaves. Dr Adeosun has been in the Basildon area since 1987.
