Firefighters were called to Edme in Mistley, which produces ingredients for the baking, cereal and food industries, after a dust extractor caught fire.
One piece of machinery was damaged but production at the High Street factory was back to normal within two hours of the blaze, just after 2pm on Friday.
Two firefighters with breathing apparatus spent 15 minutes tackling the fire in the base of a hopper with a hose reel.
Paul Thompson, Edme's company accountant, said: "One piece of machinery was slightly damaged when a dust extractor caught alight but everything else is okay."
