THE carnival atmosphere was in full swing in Wickford on Saturday, as hundreds lined the streets to watch the annual parade.
Young and old clapped the floats as they made their way from Runwell Park, along Swan Lane and the High Street, before turning into Nevendon Park, where stalls were set up.
Some people really got into the festival atmosphere by wearing fancy dress.
Angela Guest, chairman of the Wickford Carnival Committee, said: "It was a great day, the atmosphere was really good and there was lots for the children to do.
