AFTER salvaging a point from each of their last two outings Grays are hoping to return to winning ways when they host Cambridge United at the New Rec on Tuesday.

The U's have been in dire form since their fall from the Football League last year and have an attack so anaemic that they've gone five games without a goal - their worst drought in 32 years.

But Grays boss, Mark Stimson, is taking nothing for granted and remains cautious ahead of a clash that sees star-striker Dennis Oli return to his former club.

"They are having a bit of a bad run but sometimes it can work both ways," said Stimson. "They could come here and have nothing to lose and turn things around.

"But it's another great game for the club. Another ex-league team with great tradition and it's a game that we've all been looking forward to."

Oli, who netted a wonderful goal in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Tamworth, spent a month on loan at Cambridge last year before being released and ending up at Grays.

The 21-year-old has been a revelation since joining the Blues and will be looking to prove a point against a club that discarded him after just a handful of games.

"If he plays anywhere near the level he has been in recent weeks then he will cause damage," said Stimson. "He was head and shoulders above anyone on the field on Saturday and scored a brilliant goal."

Stimson may shake up a defence that conceded two sloppy goals against Tamworth with another ex-U, Stevland Angus, tipped to make a return to the starting line-up.

John Martin is ruled out with a fractured hand and Tony Battersby still hasn't shaken off a groin strain but other than that Stimson has a full squad to choose from.
