CELEBRITY mates Chris Evans and Robbie Williams have made £2million bid to buy a south Essex golf and country cub.
The golf-mad pair - who both play off a 14 handicap - have made the offer for Ballards Gore Golf and Country Club, in Stambridge, near Rochford.
A source said DJ Evans and pop star Williams are impressed with the luxurious two-storey pavilion, which it is thought they would want to extend further and add a swimming pool and spa to.
The club is already extremely popular with local golfers, but the added glamour factor of its new celebrity owners would attract rich and famous members from across London and Essex.
