Tamworth 2, Grays Athletic 2
GRAYS twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw away to Tamworth that maintained their unbeaten start to the season in the Nationwide Conference.
Dennis Oli and Glenn Poole cancelled out Jamie Stuart's own goal and Darren Mansaram's debut strike as Mark Stimson's side claimed a point.
Newly-promoted Grays started the brighter with Poole, Gary Hooper and Aaron McLean all testing James Dormand in the Tamworth goal early on. Oli was next to go close but Dormand again kept the scoresheet blank.
Against the run of play Tamworth took the lead, Stuart inadvertently heading the ball past his own goalkeeper.
Oli began to make a nuisance of himself and twice went close to equalising but his long-range efforts narrowly whistled wide.
The striker's persistence eventually paid off though when he restored parity just before the break, slotting the ball home from just inside the penalty area for his third goal of the season.
Mansaram put Tamworth ahead for the second time before Poole levelled the score.
