SOUTH Essex postal deliveries are more reliable than ever before according to figures released by Royal Mail.
The news represents a turnaround since they were branded one of the worst in the South East.
The figures for Southend, Castle Point and Basildon - which fall under the SS post code - show the amount of First Class mail delivered by the next working day.
Our letters now have a 92.2 per cent chance of reaching their destination on time, a three per cent increase on last year.
And in Billericay 93 per cent of our letters arrive on time - a six per cent increase for the CM postcode.
However there is now only one delivery a day, plus collections of parcels and special deliveries from post officers can only be carried out before midday - as opposed to 6pm previously.
