Security measures are being put in place in an effort to stop yob attacks on a town's public toilets.
Vandals have repeatedly been on the rampage in blocks of toilets in Dovercourt during the summer.
Police have now stepped-up patrols of the surrounding areas and Tendring Council is also taking action to stop the trouble.
Mike Page, council spokesman, said mobile CCTV cameras were being used to monitor the toilets and to catch the culprits.
He said the toilet blocks, all near Dovercourt's seafront, had been targeted on numerous occasions during the school holidays.
More than £1,000 damage has been caused.
