There were no last-minute dealings for Colchester United as the transfer window closed last night.

Last year, U's fans awoke to find that striker Wayne Andrews had been sold to then Premiership side Crystal Palace for a six-figure sum, and they also got Gareth Williams as part of the deal.

This time around, though, there have been no additions or departures for the current Layer Road squad.

This does not mean that manager Phil Parkinson cannot bring in new faces, but he will only be able to do so on loan until the transfer window re-opens in January - when permanent signings are available again.
