THE creation of 125 jobs next to Rayleigh Weir is in the hands of Castle Point councillors who will soon decide whether or not to agree plans for a mini industrial estate.
Developers Total CDR want to build five warehouse units and a four-storey office building in Claydons Lane, Thundersley.
Last month the borough's planning committee defered its decision for a members' site visit which has now been completed.
The plans have been recommended for approval by council officers.
A report by Ian Burchill, director of environment and sustainability, says: "Employment areas within the borough are limited and consequently it is not desirable to see the loss of potential for the provision of employment opportunities."
The proposals will be considered soon.
