Edward Emmings could be forgiven today if he breaks out in a rendition of Gin Gan Goolie when he sees his birthday cake.
With 93 candles burning brightly on top, it would bring back memories of sing-songs around the campfire as a Scout.
Mr Emmings of Romford Close, Colchester, claims he is the oldest surviving Scout in the world.
