Due to injuries and suspensions, Witham were forced to make many changes, so it was a young and inexperienced side that took to the field for Saturday's Ryman League Division Two match at Spa Road.

However, they took the lead in the 11th minute Lee Guiver collected a pass on the right, beat both his markers and scored with a fierce drive from the edge of the area.

Witham continued to attack the Hungerford goal and for sheer dominance should have had the game won before half-time as Guiver and Greg Vallely both went close.

For the first period after the break, Hungerford had the chances but the young home defence weathered the storm until the 78th minute when Dave Toomey, had come on as substitute, slotted the ball home.

For the remainder of the game, most of the action was in the Hungerford half with Witham squandering many, many, chances, with an after the game summing up, as two points lost not one won!

On Saturday, Witham Town are at home to Hythe United in the F.A. Cup (kick off 3pm).
