He's back!

And for staff at Thameside Community Healthcare Trust in Grays, it was cause for jubilant celebrations.

Popular chief executive Patrick Geoghegan had been reluctantly prised away from the job he loves while Health service investigators probed allegations of inappropriate expenditure and a long-simmering row between him and chairman John Vesey.

The situation was resolved last week when chairman Mr Vesey announced his retirement.

Mr Geoghegan, who has been away from his office since June 1, was clearly as thrilled to be back in business as were his employees who arranged the surprise party for him.
