It was a case of apples with everything at a village fair.

White Colne Apple Fair was awash with pies, chutneys, juice and over 20 varieties of apples at the village hall on Saturday.

But the event was not just aimed at apple aficionados as fun and games were also provided in the shape of apple bobbing and an apple peeling contest.

Robert Brown, of Colchester, scooped a peeler for peeling a cooking apple in the longest continuous strip.
