A Braintree youngster has marked her 11th birthday by opening a new supermarket.
Carly Ryder was chosen to cut the ribbon to the new Somerfield store in Rayne Road yesterday after winning a competition run by the chain.
The company took over the running of the store from Kwik Save following a merger of the two firms.
