Children's TV presenter Kirsten O'Brien visited Braintree to spread the word about the misuse of drugs.

The Essex Police and Essex FM 2 Smart 4 Drugs roadshow called in at Notley High School yesterday.

The BBC presenter co-hosted the show with Essex FM presenter Paul Lovett and was joined on stage by singer Adam Austin.

The Chain Reaction Theatre Company performed a series of fast-moving, upbeat sketches to show the consequences of getting involved in drugs and the Essex FM Street Dancers got the 350 pupils on their feet and dancing.

The roadshow is in its third year and was established as a flagship initiative in drugs education in Essex.

The roadshow was commended in the Government's Tackling Drugs Together awards last year.
