Celebrity chef Brian Turner left the Ready, Steady, Cook studios behind to launch a recipe book aimed at raising thousands of pounds for Action Research.
It has taken a year to collect the recipes for the 188-page publication which features 300 recipes from various celebrities.
Cooking in Action includes Tony Blair's recipe for meatballs in tomato sauce and Bill Wyman's favourite starter as well as illustrations by cartoonist Bryn Parry and wine suggestions by expert Hugh Johnson.
More than 200 people were at the launch at the Coach House in Great Saling near Braintree.
All proceeds from sales will go to Action Research which pioneered life-saving polio and rubella vaccines.
