A young Brentwood boy's dreams of working for a circus have been cut short after his unicycle was stolen.

Eight-year-old Danny Holder from Knights Way, is heartbroken that thieves have stolen both his two-wheeler bike and a unicycle given to him by his grand-dad.

Since he was six, Danny, a pupil of Hutton County Primary School, has been practising unicycling. He has just mastered the art of the one-wheeled bike while juggling at the same time.

Danny loves the circus and used to go to Circus Space in Shoreditch where he learned tricks and stunts. His mum, Karen Holder, said: "He's been very quiet since it happened, he doesn't really understand about people who steal although we have tried to explain. I know deep down he's heartbroken."

According to my father it's the only one of its kind in the country and it was made in Japan." The Holders are contacting the Gerry Cottle Circus which is coming to Billericay this week to see if anyone has tried to sell a unicycle to them.

Crime victim . . . Danny Holder is pictured with his mum Karen beside the shed where he used to keep his treasured unicycle. Danny is pictured right on the one-wheeled bike in happier days.
