Bully for them . . that is the triumphant cry for Brentwood Ursuline schoolgirls, Julia Coughlan, Emma Hickling and Joanne Luxford who have scored personal goals by being chosen to play hockey for Essex.

And as well as being a triumph for the girls it is also a super success for the Queens Road school, as it is the first year ever they have had three girls picked to play for the county.

P.E. teacher, Ann King, is thrilled at their achievements saying:

"This is really excellent both for the girls and for the school. Most years we are lucky to get one player at county level though last year we did get two. However to have three is marvellous and we are all delighted for them."

Goalkeeper Julia, 15, of Brentwood, has been picked for the Essex Under 16 squad while Emma, 17 of Rayleigh is in the Essex Under 18 squad and Joanne, 17 of Basildon, is a reserve goalkeeper in the Essex Under 18's.
