Cabaret artistes and former "co-stars" of desperately-ill Louise Tully are holding a charity evening in her honour.

Louise, who has Fancomi's Anaemia and is recovering from a life-saving bone marrow transplant, is herself a budding singer.

Guest stars from the Circus Tavern in Purfleet, including comedian Micky Pugh, vocalists Martin Stevens, Jay Clark, George Swan, Little Tony Roberts and many more are giving their talents for free.

The Vision Dancers are also on the bill for the event being held at the Belvedere in Crays Hill, to raise money for bone marrow research charity, the Hammersmith Trust.

Louise's plight made the headlines when it was revealed her Basildon Council home in Holden Road had mould growing on the walls because of bad condensation.

Opening a window for ventilation would put her at risk from infection and her parents want the council to put in better fitting windows to cancel out any danger. The council has said it is monitoring the situation.

The 16-year-old has entered many talent competitions at the venue in Hardings Elm Road, where her favourite songs to sing were Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" and Patsy Cline's "Crazy".

She was taking singing lessons with teacher and performer Maggie Roberts, who is organising the event with her husband Denis.

Mrs Roberts said: "Most of the people performing on Sunday night have come across Louise and her friends she used to perform with in the shows will be taking part.

"She was coming along very nicely with her singing lessons.

"We all really feel for her because she's such a plucky girl who sings and dances.

"We've been wanting to put a show on in aid of Louise's charity for a long time.

"We've put on lots of charity shows but this time we are personally involved with the cause of the show because of Louise and know who this charity is helping."

Relatives of Louise, including dad Keith and 13-year-old brother Ronny, who donated his bone marrow for the operation, will be in the audience on Sunday night.

Her mum Pauline, said: "She used to love getting up and singing.

"I think it's brilliant they're putting on a show for her and is lovely of them to do what they're doing."

Tickets for the event, which begins at 6pm, cost £10 and include a main carvery meal, tickets for children are priced £5 and include a child's menu meal.

For tickets call Mrs Roberts on 01268 584001.
