All-time children's favourite egghead Humpty Dumpty is making hospital visiting a more fun-filled experience for youngsters in Southend.
Rayleigh artist Lisa Hawker has just unveiled her two big, colourful murals in the hospital's special care baby unit.
She said: "The brief was to appeal to children visiting their brothers and sisters in the high-dependency ward."
She has added her own individual touches to the traditional rhymes by introducing new characters and attaching balloons to Humpty Dumpty's Birthday Party and Humpty's Magic Book.
Lisa, 37, of Clarence Road, started her career painting portraits before boosting her earning power by learning ceramics at South East Essex Tech.
She then took a business course and launched her own business three years ago.
Since then, she has designed murals for the KeyMed factory, Chelmsford's Riverside swimming pool, hospitals in Chelmsford and Colchester Hospital, and she has recently finished a year-long residency working with students at Bethnal Green Technology College.
Her next project is a relief panel, provisionally called Baby in Hands, to commemorate consultant paediatrician Dr Hugo Lieberschuetz in the entrance of Southend's special care baby unit, due for completion in January.
