Being saved by the heroic fire crew of London's Burning was all in a day's work for 11-year-old Rosie Wiggins.

The Leigh youngster has recorded an episode of the top ITV drama which will be screened in the new year.

Already in her prolific acting career Rosie has appeared in the drama series Scold's Bridle and has just recorded a Radio 4 play entitled Waterbabies.

She also has the honour of being in the first Imax 3D film to have been produced in Britain. The Nutcracker will be shown at the Imax cinema currently being built at Waterloo.

Rosie is now at Rainsford High School in Chelmsford, where she has been accepted on to an enhanced arts programme to expand her theatrical knowledge.

She was one of just 21 pupils accepted onto the programme who will get intensive dancing, singing and acting classes alongside normal lessons.

As well as acting Rosie takes dance classes at the South Essex Theatre School in Leigh.

It was the combination of acting and dancing ability that landed her a role in the Cliffs Pavilion panto Snow White and the Seven Dwarves starring Linda Lusardi in 1996.

She is currently appearing as a fairy in Midsummer Nights Dream at the Eastwood School studio until Saturday.
