A Chelmsford 'spy' has revealed that sex, sleaze and corruption is what computer users demand most when surfing the net.

Former Brentwood School pupil Phil Wand, 28, of Shenfield, is principal in Lightman, an internet consultancy based on the Widford Estate, Chelmsford.

The company's latest development is "Search Spy" a new programme which will automatically include the words and phrases most commonly used by people searching the net in a user's own pages. The programme was developed by Phil and colleague Jamie Cunningham, 28.

The data unearthed by Search Spy is updated every 10 seconds and has apparently confirmed the net's reputation for immorality.

Mr Cunningham said: "While the data we unearthed is of immense value to anyone with a web site the fact remains that it contains a surprising quantity of references to pornography."
