A Billericay worker could be on her way to America after getting through to the finals of a prestigious competition.
Debbie Burgess, 20, a trainee quantity surveyor for Billericay-based D&D Construction, has got to the finals of the Modern Apprenticeship of the Year.
She could be whisked by Concorde to the USA if she comes out tops.
Debbie, of Stanford-le-Hope, is keeping her fingers crossed after winning her heat of the regional finals in London.
The national finals will be held on January 14 at the Cafe Royal in London.
Debbie, who joined the High Street firm as a receptionist two years ago, said: "I was thrilled just to reach the regional final and couldn't believe it when I heard I had won through to the national final.
"I've suddenly developed a lot of new friends now people know that flight on Concorde is getting closer."
