Fans of one of Hollywood's most famous stars are in for a treat as a Clacton hotel is offering them the chance to live alongside a legend.

The Le'Vere Hotel in Agate Road is a shrine to swashbuckling hero Errol Flynn who wowed audiences in a string of blockbusters.

All six of the letting bedrooms, the hallways, lounge and even the en suite bathrooms at the Victorian hotel are plastered with posters, cards and pictures of the man and his movies.

Each of the rooms - named after Flynn's film characters - comes complete with its very own video library dedicated to the late star of classics like Robin Hood.

Lee and Vera Stone, who have run their seaside hotel for the last 18 years, are passionate about the 6ft 2in idol.

Lee, a fan since childhood, says his proudest moment was handing his hero a cup of tea while working at Warner Brothers studios.

"I just couldn't believe I was meeting him. I didn't even think to get his autograph," he said.

But the interest in this dashing actor was already deep rooted and Lee's collection of memorabilia is vast.

He has more than 70 original posters of the Flynn films - some from Belgium, Argentina and America.

He has written to Flynn's daughter in USA and even put up some families in the hotel in return for collectable posters.

He writes to fellow fans all over the world and is a font of knowledge on the man and his films.

Flynn was in his prime in the 1930s and 40s. He made 58 films in all - and the Stones have copies of 56 of them.

Lee and Vera worked for film companies - Vera for Hammer Horror.

They have a total of 4,500 films on tape and are now beginning to extend their lifelong collection of memorabilia to include other great stars of the screen.

But they make it perfectly clear no-one will take Errol's place in their hearts.

Vera says," Women just fell over him. He was a real heartthrob, women just threw themselves at him all the time."
