Stan Page's Sigma 36 Chasseur consolidated her position in Class 1 of the Crouch Yacht Club's Autumn series after Sunday's penultimate race, sponsored by Shoreline, who run Lakedale Marine at Burnham Yacht Harbour.

Page chalked up his third victory to move two points clear of Shoot the Bar (Charlie Mills) and Len Baker's Erotic Bear, who were second and third respectively.

In what was always a highly competitive race in breezy conditions, made more interesting by the foul tide start, Chasseur finished just over a minute in front of Shoot the Bar on corrected time and will have to suffer a disaster in Sunday's final race not to take overall honours.

Ernie Breavington's Mr BoJangles, sailed by Paul Manning, scored his fifth win of the series to clinch Class 2 overall.

Meanwhile, Mike Harrision (Jiminy Cricket), the Class 3 overall winner, also made it five wins out of eight.

David Warner's quarter-tonner Panic did well in the conditions to finish second, with David Lenz's Red Jacket making up for last week's disqualification by taking third place.

Andy Woodhill's Nutcracker took race honours in Class 4, but even though Stella Peacock (Aylen, Hakwes, Mounsey), sailed by John Hodsdon, was down in fifth place. The fact that she beat Ron Williams and Neil Pitman's Lylie means she takes the overall prize.

Robin Tickner's Kick 'Em Jenny, with ex-505 hot-shot Richard Beales at the helm in place of the absent skipper, won the Sportsboat class, but Hallucination (Stuart Redman and Julian Briggs), second on the day, still take the series trophy.

Results: Class 1: Chasseur (S Page), 2 Shoot the Bar (C Mills), 3 Erotic Bear (L Baker). Class 2: Mr BoJangles (E Breavington), 2 Ace of Harts (I Hart), 3 Secrets (G Schaffer). Class 3: 1 Jiminy Cricket (M Harrison), 2 Panic (D Warner), 3 Red Jacket (D Lenz). Class 4: 1 Nutcracker (A Woodhill), 2 Dos Mescolitos (I Langston), 3 Bonzarella (unknown). Sportboat: Kick 'Em Jenny (R Tickner), 2 Hallucination (S Redman & J Briggs).
