After their success in the southern final of Megabowl's National Fax League, Chelmsford Sliders (Debbie Edmonds, John Edmonds and Mike Rogacs) were at the national finals in Manchester on Sunday and gained a well earned fifth place.
The team ended the morning session in eighth place after a disappointing performance which saw them lose all four games.
However, they stormed back in the afternoon by winning four of the five games to earn bonus points, which saw them move into a creditable trophy and prize winning position.
Two teams from Newport occupied the top places followed by Chorley and Dundee, the Sliders taking the last position on the podium with a defeat of the Newport team who finished runners-up, and it is anticipated that the competition may be held on an annual basis.
