Police are appealing for a group of youths to come forward after a girl was indecently assaulted in Laindon near Basildon.
An Essex Police spokesman said officers were called to the Laindon Centre at 12pm on Sunday to investigate reports of an indecent assault on a 15-year-old girl.
The girl was unhurt following her ordeal but has been left badly shaken by the incident.
The assault is believed to have happened near the fish and chip shop in the centre and a group of youths are believed to have run past in the direction of Laindon High Road.
Police are now keen to speak to the youths as they believe they may be able to help officers with their inquiries.
They should contact DC Newbury at Laindon police on 01268 410101
