A newborn baby girl is all shook up about her identity - because her family have nicknamed her Elvis.

While mum Sarah Downing was pregnant, dad Dave Warren, 29, dubbed the unborn baby Elvis because he was a big fan of the King of Rock and Roll.

But when a little girl popped out after a 19-hour labour, the happy parents had to have a rethink on the name front.

Despite plumping for the names Jessica Taylor they just can't forget the Elvis label.

The couple even put a quirky birth notice in the paper which said: "Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the womb."

Sarah, 30, of Mill Road, Burnham on Crouch, said: "We have already had one congratulations card for a boy.

"Even the postwoman is still asking how Elvis is and her grandparents also call her Elvis.

"I think she is going to have an identity crisis when she is older."

Jessica, who weighed in at 6lbs 10oz on December 9 at St John's Hospital, Chelmsford, is the couple's first child. Sarah added: "She's the first and last. I'm still walking like John Wayne!"
