Chuckling youngsters used up their festive energy - and raised cash for charity.

More than 30 deserving children, aged one to 11, were nominated by their parents to be on the guest list at Chuckle City.

Each had come through hard times - many were still coping with illness or the loss of a parent.

Staff at the soft play kingdom, on Basildon's Festival Leisure Park, made sure a bit of happiness was put back into their lives at this special time of year.

The fun-loving youngsters were not the only ones to benefit from the afternoon - around £300 was also raised for Basildon Hospital Scanner Appeal. Basildon and East Thurrock MP Angela Smith was there to hand over the raffle prizes.
